State Crime Prevention Branch

The State Crime Prevention Branch comprises:

  • Drug and Alcohol Policy Section
  • Crime Prevention Planning Section
  • Youth Programs Coordination Section
  • Watch SA Coordination Section
  • Volunteer Coordination Section
  • Victim Policy Section

The State Crime Prevention Branch aims:

  • Improve the quality of programs introduced and used for crime prevention;
  • Ensure a standard level of training is acquired by staff within the new Crime Prevention Sections;
  • Increase the level of expertise and understanding in relation to crime prevention and problem solving across SAPOL;
  • Foster a centrally coordinated focus towards crime prevention;
  • Improve research and development capability of SAPOL by redefining crime prevention functions;
  • Improve SAPOL's community engagement capacity; and
  • Provide a more coordinated approach to knowledge management of crime prevention activities.
