The State Crime Prevention Branch comprises:
- Drug and Alcohol Policy Section
- Crime Prevention Coordination Section
- Youth Programs Coordination Section
- Watch SA Coordination Section
- Volunteer Coordination Section
- Victim Policy Section
The State Crime Prevention Branch aims:
- Improve the quality of programs introduced and used for crime prevention;
- Ensure a standard level of training is acquired by staff within the new Crime Prevention Sections;
- Increase the level of expertise and understanding in relation to crime prevention and problem solving across SAPOL;
- Foster a centrally coordinated focus towards crime prevention;
- Improve research and development capability of SAPOL by redefining crime prevention functions;
- Improve SAPOL's community engagement capacity; and
- Provide a more coordinated approach to knowledge management of crime prevention activities.
