Police pursuit in southern suburbs (22/08/08)
Sturt Police and a STAR group member have been involved in a police pursuit in the southern suburbs last night. Just before 11pm a Star Group officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Sturt Road Oaklands Park for an alleged traffic offence. The driver of the vehicle allegedly refused to stop and was pursued by police at low speed through back streets of Marion then along South Road to Reynella where Police deployed road spikes. More

15,000 Crimes solved via BankSA Crime Stoppers calls
More than 15,000 crimes, including nine murders, have now been solved by SA Police from information received through calls to BankSA Crime Stoppers. Announcing the milestone today, SAPOL's Acting Assistant Commissioner of Crime Service Tom Osborn said the public program had proven to be a valuable asset to crime solving since it was launched in SA 12 years ago. "These results reflect and reinforce the value of the successful partnership formed between BankSA Crime Stoppers, South Australia Police, media and the community."
